The role playing done on this site is done in a free-form style, so that one may be able to customize abilities and what-nots to their most detailed desire without limitations associated with stats. However because proficiency is required to perform a good number of the abilities one gains over their time training, the Feat system has been implemented. Each race has 11 basic feats that is customized to their race and their race's abilities. Six of these feats are completely universal, and are shared by every single race, regardless of each race's abilities. Feats are ranked 1-20, with 20 being a complete mastery of that field, and 1 being a completely novice take on the concept. As you role play more and more, you will gain experience which can then be used to "rank-up" these feats, improving your character's skill in that field. The 6 universal feats are listed below: ( and exaggerated at points, obviously)

Reiatsu pool: The amount of reiatsu one has. At rank 1, your reiatsu matches that of one who is brand new to the concept of wielding spiritual energy, little stronger than an ordinary human's. At Rank 20, you are Ichigo Kurosaki; just fought grimjow, nnoitra, and ulqiorra? Whatever you still have half your total reiatsu left.
Endurance: The natural defense that one has. This determined how badly attacks damage the user. At Rank 1, equip some armor or run for your life, punches should knock you clean out. At Rank 20, you are Nnoitra, swords and arrows do little to nothing to you, you beast.
Stamina: The natural amount of health one has. This is different from endurance, for it doesn't affect how you are damaged, but rather how long you can last before exhaustion or death creeps up on you. At Rank 1, you get winded from small skirmishes, if this was the UFC you would be tired after the first round. At Rank 20, you are Zaraki Kenpachi; swords have pierced through you, but do not slow you down.
Strength: The amount of raw physical power one has. At Rank 1, you bench about 150 lbs. Stick with a sword cause you are doing no damage on your own. At Rank 20, you are Komamura Sajin, enormous arrancar may try to crush you with their giant hands, but hell with it, you throw them with your own.
Spirit: The force behind your kidou attacks, ceros, and reiatsu based spells. At Rank 1, your kidou is like a bee sting. At Rank 20, you are Ulquiorra, your black cero wipes out all opposition.
Dexterity: The quickness of feet, agility of attacks, and your aim with ranged attacks. At Rank 1, good luck hitting a stationary blimp with anything you hurl. At Rank 20, you are Ishida, not only is every arrow landing, all 20,000 arrows are landing.


While those 6 feats are universal to all beings, the other races have their own, unique feats. The are:


Shinigami:
Swordmanship-Skill with your zanpakuto in combat. At Rank 1 you swing your sword around like its some sort of bat. At Rank 20 you are the most expert of fencers, counter attacking and parrying with the slightest flick of the wrist.
Hadou-Skill with offensive spells. At Rank 1, you know how to light matches with your kidou, at Rank 20 you make Aizen look weak, casting #90 + hadou techniques at full strength with no chant.
Bakudo-Skill with support spells. At Rank 1, you may cast the weakest of bakudous, possibly shining your shoes. At Rank 20, you may bind captains with whispered words.
Shunpo- Proficiency and speed with flash steps. At Rank 1, your shunpo is indestinguishable from a power-walk. At Rank 20, the Mach 5 itself has nothing on you.
Hand-to-hand - Your skill with unarmed fighting. At Rank 1, you are nothing but a drunk brawler. At Rank 20, Chuck Norris runs in fear.


Hollow
Hand to Hand- Skill with unarmed fighting. At Rank 1, you are nothing but a drunk brawler. At Rank 20, Chuck Norris runs in fear.
Cero- Skill with Cero and offensive spells. At Rank 1, well.. you don't have cero. At Rank 20, Stark would be jelous by the number and strength of ceroes you fire.
Hechiseria- Skill with supportive spells and abilities. At Rank 1, you create gargantas with no direction whatsoever. At Rank 20, you can open pin-point gargantas to shield yourself from projectiles.
Sonido- Proficiency and speed with sonido steps. *See shunpo
Regeneration- Rate at which health regenerates/ limbs regrow in a thread. At Rank 1, you heal at the same rate as normal humans,at Rank 20 a few posts pass uniterrupted and you are good as new. * Note regeneration does cost reiatsu however


Quincy
Ranged Combat- Skill with bows and ranged attacks. At Rank 1 you can maybe shoot a fish in a barrell. At Rank 20 its Boom! Headshot!
Offensive spells- Skill with silver tubes and offensive spells. At Rank 1, its probably more effective to throw rocks. At Rank 20, Zeuss himself fears the lightning you hurl.
Support spells- Skill with support spells. At Rank 1, your support is negligible. At Rank 20, your allies run at their enemies fearless, knowing your support is all they need for victory.
Melee combat- Skill with Seele Schnieder and melee weapons. At Rank 1.... just stick to what you are good at...bows. At Rank 20, Vader would fear your lightsaber skills.
Hirenkyaku- Proficiency and speed with Quincy flash steps. At Rank 1...you might have just enough boost to win that sack race. At Rank 20, shunpo and sonido are like turtles compared to your mighty quincy lightspeed.


Bount
Puppetry- Skill in which doll is controlled. At Rank 1... good luck, your doll is sooner to kill you than listen to you. At Rank 20, This thing acts as an extension of your own body.
Offensive spells- skill with offensive spells. *See Quincy above
Support Spells- Skill with support spells. *See Quincy above
Hand-to-hand- Skill with unarmed combat. At Rank 1, you are nothing but a drunk brawler. At Rank 20, Chuck Norris runs in fear.
Shadow steps- proficiency and speed with the human, ninja-esque take on flash steps. *See shunpo

Living
Melee-combat- Skill with unarmed and armed, melee combat. At Rank 1, you are nothing but a drunk brawler. At Rank 20, Chuck Norris runs in fear.
Ranged Combat- Skill with ranged attacks. At Rank 1 you can maybe shoot a fish in a barrell. At Rank 20 its Boom! Headshot!
Offensive spells- Skill with offensive spells. *See Quincy above
Support spells- Skill with support spells.*See Quincy above
Shadow steps- Proficiency and speed with human flash-steps. *See shunpo

Each beginning character starts with Rank 1 in each of the universal and racial feats, with a total of 500 exp points to spend in initial ranking-up. For exp costs on ranks, see the topic " Ranking up Feats"
